Deskside Engineer

Chennai 1+ Year Full-time End-User IT Support & Incident Resolution, Windows Systems, Peripherals & Patch Management OPT0259

Job Description

  • Provide first-level hardware and software support in a 24×7 rotating shift environment including night shift.
  • Handle user incidents and service requests, following defined escalation procedures.
  • Install and configure hardware and computer peripherals on end-user systems.
  • Deliver IT support for desktops, laptops, and related devices.
  • Perform weekly and monthly patching activities and coordinate with end users.
  • Troubleshoot Windows PCs, M365, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, VDI, and VPN issues.
  • Support peripherals such as printers, scanners, and POS systems.
  • Work closely with IT teams to resolve technical issues and maintain service continuity.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / ITE in Hardware or Software Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Basic networking knowledge (Routing & Switching).
  • Familiarity with SCCM (good to have).
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (good to have).
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer support skills.
  • Ability to work in rotating 24×7 shifts.

Experience

  • Minimum 1+ year of technical support or deskside engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows environments and Microsoft tools.
  • Experience providing on-site or deskside IT support.
  • Exposure to patch management processes.
