Job Description

• Core responsibilities: Translate and edit Meta content (UI + long form), perform product testing for linguistic/functional issues, update terminology/style guides, and provide cultural expertise.
• Key requirements: Native fluency in target language, near native English, 3+ years translation experience, bachelor’s degree, familiarity with culture/trends; preferred background in linguistics/translation studies.
• Team structure: Reporting directly to Sumant Vidwans, part of a 6 member I18n team managing translation quality and vendor collaboration.
• Candidate value proposition: Impact billions via WhatsApp/Facebook/Instagram translations, gain experience guiding vendors, and exposure to Meta’s global business operations.
• Performance metrics: Timely volume completion, translation quality (individual + vendor), and internal team feedback on priorities.
• Interview process: Candidates will undergo a translation test followed by an interview with Sumant Vidwans.
• Work setup: The role is onsite in Gurgaon, not remote, with no overtime, on call, or shift requirements.
• Stakeholder interaction: About 40% internal (reactive suggestions) and 60% external with vendors, focusing on translation quality.
• Industry background: Candidates should have linguist experience in tech product or app translation; legal/novel/book translation backgrounds are not preferred.
• Team culture: Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast changing environment.

Role Details & Eligibility Criteria

• The position is based in Gurugram and follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to work from the office 3 days a week and remotely for 2 days.

• Recent freelancing experience may also be taken into consideration.
