Automation Test Lead

Job Description

• Lead QA strategy across squads using shift-left, risk-based testing, BDD/TDD, and contract testing approaches.
• Define testing standards, governance models, and quality metrics (readiness gates, defect SLAs, QA OKRs).
• Own end-to-end automation strategy covering UI, API, component, and regression suites integrated with CI/CD.
• Maintain test architecture roadmap including frameworks, environments, test data, and observability.
• Ensure comprehensive functional and non-functional test coverage.
• Plan and execute performance, scalability, resilience, and security testing.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Compliance teams to balance quality, risk, and speed.
• Provide dashboards, release readiness reports, and recommendations to leadership.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary QA teams (automation, functional, performance, security).
• Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives and incident reviews.
• Coach squads on acceptance criteria, testability, and Definition of Ready/Done.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership in QA strategy, governance, and automation frameworks.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
• Strong SQL skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL) for backend and data validation.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, REST Assured.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, DevOps, and shift-left practices.
• Knowledge of performance and security testing tools (JMeter/k6, OWASP ZAP).
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to AWS cloud and Kubernetes for test environment management.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Experience

• 10+ years in QA/testing with 3+ years leading centralized or cross-product testing teams.
• Proven experience driving enterprise automation strategies.
• Experience managing large QA teams in Agile environments.
• Hands-on background in automation, performance, and security testing.
• Experience supporting cloud-based test infrastructures
